Bus signal
To avoid unnecessary bus stops, the Swedish Transport Administration has together with Länstrafiken had a bus signal system installed at some stops in the county. This means that at these stops, the bus only stops if there are passengers who need to get on or off.
The bus signal system works by having a box at the bus stop with a button on it that the passenger enters if they want to travel on the bus. When the button has been pressed, the light on the bus signal pole that is located along the road a bit before the stop goes out. When the light goes out, the driver knows that there are passengers who want to go with him and drives into the bus stop, and if the bus line is out of order, the light will be off and the driver will drive into the stop.
This is how you do to call the bus to the stop
When 5 minutes remain until the bus arrives, press the button on the gray box, there are two buttons you choose in the direction you want to travel. A tone will sound from the box when the signal is activated. The bus signal is active for 15 minutes. If the bus is delayed, you need to press the button again.
